Voorstel voor de 'Advocate Europe* Idea challenge'.
*Advocate Europe is een ideeën wedstrijd voor innovatieve Europeese projecten.
Creating awareness on equivalence and equal access leading to prosperity for all Europeans, by means of a #OneEUBarcode.
The idea behind #OneEUBarcode for products and services, is to increase equivalence for all Europeans, and at the same time restructure and reshape the following area’s; tax system, social safety net, and cooperation. It is essential that there is a strong focus on these areas. Affairs such as the free movement of capital, goods and services require restructuring. A new financing model is needed to support a social safety net, making sure everyone has access to the absolute essentials in life. Linking National and European legislation through the #OneEUBarcode, will allow to establish whether products and services are produced in a sustainable manner, and track if they are transported in a climate-neutral way. A conference will be organized, inviting various stakeholders to pay a contribution to the exploration of the concept. Europeans also have the opportunity to interactively join online. The website will act as a dynamic platform and host all conference-related matters.
The story behind the idea
The way in which we in Europe deal with the concept of industrialisation has led to an economic, ecological and social crisis. We need a new perspective at the entire infrastructure governing the way our welfare is produced, including how we use, process and transport raw materials. Interest of the individual being seen as a collective interest. Therefore the collectives must now be reformed adequately to reflect diversity and similarities. Our aim is to make the face of this new Europe more visible. A Europe in where European law actively encourages corporations to make fair quality choices and can take responsibility for their own actions, without imposing improper business risks on governments, consumers, clients and the young generation.
Full awareness amongst all stakeholders In Europe about the urgency to invest in #OneEUBarcode. And the initiation of a broad discussion dealing with the topic ‘investing in a new infrastructure is needed to lead Europe towards a circular economy’. Our aim is to have this listed as a priority on the agenda in all European countries. The possibility to invest in a smart system that will support FairTax, resulting in the opportunity to develop a social safety net for Europeans who do not have an income, will be in a year’s time widely supported by a broad audience
Organizing the #OneEUBarcode congress and launching it’s website, will be the start of the project. Fully supported by a strategic MarCom plan, in which social media plays a pivotal role. E.g. by means of viral (buzz-marketing online) created media attention. By selecting European ambassadors that will host the project on local level, a broad audience can be reached. This will result in a widest possible selection of stakeholders that can best represent Europe at the #OneEUBarcode congress. A dedicated project team will be responsible for planning and execution of the project, and the roll out through all the stages. The basic methods used will be: project management (Prince2), scrum/agile approach, and the PDCA-cycle.
Why does Europe needs this idea?
The European society is feeling the effects of what can happen when equal access to justice, work, income, healthy food, education and safety at the national and European levels is not assured. A growing gap between rich and poor, where women and children are affected most, is one of the results. The European rules and regulations are difficult to understand and lacking in transparency. A new system is what is required, one that will speed up the change whereby equal accessibility becomes the key-driving factor, enabling the development of an internationally fair distribution of welfare. Our aim is to encourage everyone to think about his or her own position within the context of the big European picture. #OneEUBarcode is in our opinion the first step in making a difference.
Partner organisations and team members
The team that will implement the project is managed by Monique Sparla (Project Managers and Interactive Media Consulting), Mar de Jong (IT/ICT), and Wietske van der Schaaf (Fundraising, Politics and Communication).
